What is Bowenwork?

Bowenwork is a gentle and effective soft tissue therapy that balances tension patterns in the body, resulting in a deep state of healing and relaxation. Changes in tension allows the body to shift to better postural alignment, while creating pain reduction and restoring better balance to the autonomic nervous system. This nervous system controls over 80% of bodily functions and is very susceptible  to external stressors. Bowenwork addresses the body as a whole with long term lasting results. It deeply affects not only the musculoskeletal framework with the connecting fascia, but also the nerves, internal organs, and lymphatic system.

What To Expect?

Each session lasts 30-90 minutes depending on your specific condition. Following treatment, some changes may be noticeable right away, such as reduced pain, greater range of motion, and a deep sense of relaxation and well-being. 


You may notice changes over the next several days as your body continues the process that began during your session.  During periods between each session, depending on the issue, I may teach you gentle Bowen exercises that you can perform on yourself to keep your healing moving in the right direction.

 

Post-Session

Ensuring that you do not interrupt the bodies innate healing process post session, adhere to the following guidelines: 

  • Drink plenty of Water

  • Avoid ice or heat including hot tubs 

  • Be sure to walk at least 20 mins each day following your session 

  • The body can feel worse the day after the session prior to dramatic differences in the proceeding days. Drink you water, walk and wait out the first 48 hours
